Based in Stuttgart, Dr. Alexander Rieck serves as a senior researcher at the esteemed Fraunhofer Institute, the German Government’s applied research institute; and is also the co-founder of LAVA, a sustainability-focused architecture studio. Through LAVA, he influences global policy and advances the European Union’s sustainability mission. Currently, LAVA is a leading Architecture Consultant for the NEOM project in Saudi Arabia.

His expertise is now directed towards securing the future of green energy for Fraunhofer, Germany, and the European Union.
